While I always knew I wanted to do something about my bottled water waste, I got that final extra push by taking the "FilterForGood" pledge which I came across while I was perusing the Brita website. Something about their use of words hit me just the right way, "The FilterForGood campaign raises awareness of simple changes everyone can make to live eco-friendly lives." Has a nice ring to it huh? Just click on the link above, take the pledge and be on your way to helping reduce bottled water waste.

Here's a link to one of my favorite environmental websites; but don't let the name fool you, Clean Air Gardening sells so much more than just gardening products. From push mowers (their very first product) to soaps to ceiling fans to composters, they are one stop shopping for all things evnironmental.

Click on the giant trash heap above to go to a web blog entitled "365 Days of Trash." It's from a man in California who calls himself "Sustainable Dave" and he threw NOTHING away for an entire year just to see, and show others, the amount of trash that one family generates. It's illuminating, eye opening and downright scary. If you're brave, take Dave's 1-week challenge. See if you can do for a week what he did for an entire year.
